Emmy Rossum is a popular American Actress. Along with acting in films she is also popularly known as a television director, singer and a song writer. Rossum is best known for her role in television series ‘shameless’ (2011). In this series she portrayed as Fiona Gallagher. The film through which she got the most recognition is ‘Mystic River’ (2003). Rossum debuted with her film ‘Song-catcher’ in 2000. When she entered with her first film she was 13 years old. She is very good at music too that she applied her skills in her films.
For her music schedule she says “I have been spending 12 hours a day in the studio”. Russom considers Sarah McLachlan, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion and Faith Hill as her influences for music. She is the one who sang the National Anthem at the Toyota\ Save Mart 350 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series.

Emmy Rossum was born on 12 September,1986 in New York. Her full name is Emmanuelle Grey Rossum but she mostly uses her short name for her profession. She is the only child of her parents. Her parents got divorced when her mother was pregnant. Rossum met her father twice and she is raised by her mother only. Her mother, Cheryl Rossum worked as a corporate photographer. Her first name is on her great grandmother whose name was Emanuel. At the age of seven she was very talented in her music and singing skills plus she sang on stage for five years when she was small.
Rossam is capable of singing in six languages in 20 operas. She soon developed her interest in acting which made her took the classes in the New Actors Workshop in New York. In kindergarten she was diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. She took prescribed Ritalin to control her behavior since then. She completed her high school degree when she was just fifteen through online courses. Later she studied history, arts, philosophy and French.

Emmy Rossum is currently married to Sam Es-mail. They got married in 2017. But Rossum has a long list of her ex boyfriends. She was involved in many relationships before really getting married. Rossum dated, Tyler Jacob Moore, Adam Duritz, Justin Siegel, Chris Evans, Milo Ventimiglia, Topher Grace, David Wildenstein. Rossum was in a relationship with Moore in 2011 and broke up with each other after two years in 2013. They both were co-stars in ‘shameless’. She dated Justin Siegel and was also married to him in 2008 to 2010. But later Justin filed for divorce after one year of their marriage.

Rossum was not involved in many of the controversies but she was into few controversies. Rossum left her most popular show ‘shameless’ after completing nine seasons of the show. She announced this new on her Facebook post which had a picture of her cast and crew of ‘shameless’ and she emotionally announced it.
She left the show because a news came that she was demanding high salary for per episode. She thought that as she id having longer hours on the set and working there she demanded extra for her episodes. Few supported her by saying that she works hard and she deserves everything. Rossum played the character of Fiona Gallagher and this character is the iconic on the show and many of the viewers expressed their emotion on this news.
Emmy Rossum was into a controversy because of her one episode based on ‘modern love’. This episode was itself a controversial episode. Viewers called it as ‘explicitly creepy’. She said that “I was immediately struck by the complexity of the male-female relationship, the awkwardness and the inability to express what you are really looking for”.
