Sri Vadhanyeshwarar temple

Sri Punukeeswarar temple
This temple is located in Koorainadu and gets its name from Pannakku Siddhar who got moksha here. Dedicated to Lord Shiva and his consort Santha Nayaki. A special saree known as “koorai saree” (koorai means clothe) by the brides in the marriages and these sarees are only woven in koorainadu which are sarees of length nine yards without a joint.

Located on the banks of river Cauvery, this temple is one of the 108 Vaishnava Thirpatis. It is also a part of a religious pilgrimage circuit called Pancha Ranga Kshetram which means, the five temples of Vishnu.

Dedicated to Lord Shiva, here Lord Shiva is worshiped as a Kalantaka (Destroyer of Death) and built in the 11th century dated back to the Chola dynasty.

Sri Veeratteswarar Temple
Located at the southern bank of Pennai rive, this temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. IT is one of the eight Veeratta sthalas, and the place where Lord Shiva destroyed demon Andhakasura and It is the second with the historical importance. The inscriptions on the temple walls are done in the period of Cholas and Vijayanagar kingdoms.
